Identity and packaging design for Woolworths, one of South Africas most respected retailers. Over the seven year period as the creative director at CTTC design, Todd worked in a collaborative, B2B relationship with Woolworths on many significant private label ranges within the retailers beauty and homeware departments.

The collaboration with Woolworths also meant working alongside some of the industries most respected designers and studios. The redesigned corporate identity was created by the late Massimo Vigenelli and the implementation of the brand was spearheaded by Australia's Frost design.

Todd’s experience with Woolworths was an incredibly prolific and inspirational one, working with many talented people that over the years became far more than simply a client.

Debonair Pour Homme

A feeling of urbanity was the goal of the Debonair brand. Modern typography is highlighted within a metallic chrome strip giving it a sleek, gadgetry style and the rich, mature colour palette adds an air of sophistication. Themed gift packs combine fitting products with practical gadgets.

Xavier For Men

Designed for the younger demographic, and as a partner to the Debonair range, the metallic and black colour palette is combined with a tactile finish to give this product a boyish look and feel. The font ‘Bank Gothic’ offers a solid typographic element, and gift sets included functional gadgets for the active fun-loving man.

Be Beautiful

Branding for the Be Beautiful range is constructed solely through the use of typography. A capped serif font with the initial letterform of each word raised created a significant impact. This is complemented well by a gold backdrop that confidently balances swirling floral silhouette images. Eight individual gifting options were developed, appealing to a diversity of women.
